What Is a Wilderness Journey?
The Wilderness Journey is a sacred and intentional season of 40 full days dedicated to stripping away every comfort, every distraction, and every counterfeit source of strength so that your soul can encounter the living God without interference. This is not a self-help challenge. It is not a trendy fasting program. This is an altar—a place where you lay down what has been mastering you so that God can rebuild you from the inside out. Why do we do this? Because comfort dulls conviction. Distractions drown out the still, small voice. When life feels like chaos, the wilderness is God’s classroom—a space where He burns away self-reliance and births unshakable faith. But let’s be honest: this will hurt. The stripping process is painful because it tears out roots of pride, fear, addiction, and control that we’ve clung to for years. This is why most never enter the wilderness—they don’t want to feel the fire. But the ones who endure? They emerge different. Refined. Unmovable. If you choose this path, understand what you are choosing: you are inviting God to undo you so He can renew you.

The Framework & Rules of the Journey
This is not a vague “fast as you feel” experience. The Wilderness Project is designed with structure for both spiritual depth and practical accountability.
Daily Commitments:
-
Fasting Window: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM. No food during this time.
-
Two Meals Daily: Outside the fasting window. Meals must be modest—no overeating or bingeing.
-
Zero Comfort Crutches:
-
No sugar
-
No energy drinks or juice
-
No alcohol
-
No tobacco or nicotine
-
No mindless snacking
-
No doom-scrolling or endless media distraction
-
-
Prayer & Word: Begin and end each day in Scripture and prayer.
Community Support:
-
Daily Journal Prompt: Personalized for your journey—so your reflections go deeper than surface thoughts.
-
Buddy System: You’ll be paired with someone who understands your background for mutual encouragement and accountability.
-
Optional Daily Group Call: A prayer and support line where you’re never walking alone.
-
Weekly Bible Study (Mandatory): Dive deep into the character of God, because when everything else is stripped away, His nature must be your anchor.
This is not about white-knuckling your way through rules. This is about surrender and structure working together to keep you aligned.
A Final Caution Before You Enter
The Wilderness Project is not a quick fix for a rough season. It is not a fad. It is a vow—a sacred commitment before God. And Scripture makes this clear:

“When you make a vow to God, do not delay to fulfill it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill your vow. It is better not to make a vow than to make one and not fulfill it.”
— Ecclesiastes 5:4-5

Do not step into the wilderness casually. Only enter if you are ready to fully surrender. Why? Because brute force will not carry you through this. Willpower will fail you by Day 3. The only way to endure the wilderness is by leaning completely on God’s divine strength. If you are ready to trade your comfort for calling, your fear for faith, and your chaos for clarity—then prepare your heart. The wilderness is waiting.
Why I Believe in This Journey
I am not inviting you into something I have not walked through myself. My own wilderness season lasted 52 days. It was a time of intense stripping, silence, and breaking where God removed every crutch I leaned on. It was one of the hardest experiences of my life, and yet, it became the most life-changing. I learned that strength is not built in ease but in surrender. I discovered that when every comfort is gone, God becomes more real than ever.
When I lead you through this 40-day journey, I will also give up many of the same comforts you will lay down. Why? Because a shepherd must walk in the same conditions as the sheep to truly know what they need. I will not guide you from a place of distance. I will walk with you. This journey will demand everything you have—and then teach you to rely on everything God is. Together, we will strip away what is temporary so we can cling to what is eternal.
